Burn it Right

An abundance of passion, care and love goes into the creation of our handmade, Scottish candles. To keep them looking and working their safest and best, follow our tips below. 

Never leave your  burning candle unattended.

Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles. Do not burn your candle, on or near anything that can catch fire. Only burn your candle on a level and heat resistant surface. 

Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time and do not allow the flame to touch the glass. 

On the first burn, always burn for 3-4 hours to ensure an even melt pool. Make sure the wick is upright, above the wax and central before the wax sets. 

Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to avoid smoking and damage to the glass. 

Your glass may become hot during use. Extinguish when 5mm of wax remains and do not relight. 

If you are using matches make sure to remove any debris as this can cause your candle to soot. 

Burn your candle on an even surface and away from drafts.
